KITTY'S WALKS FOR BREAST FEEDING, BREAST CANCER, AND A NEW ULTRASOUND SCANNER
Kitty Ussher, Burnley MP, joins local people in a walk around Towneley Park on Saturday 14th at 12.30pm to raise awareness of benefits of breastfeeding and help in the fight to combat breast cancer.
The sponsored walk aims to not only to highlight the association between breastfeeding and a reduction in the incidences of beast cancer but also to raise funds for the purchase of a new ultrasound scanner for Burnley General Hospital.
Kitty Said:
“Breast cancer is something that affects many lives and we must work to combat the disease. The link between a reduction in the instances of breast caner and breastfeeding is becoming more clear and I’m extremely proud to be a part of this walk which will help raise funds to promote and support breastfeeding.
Part of the money raised will also go towards the purchase of the new ultrasound scanner for Burnley General Hospital, which will help with earlier and more accurate diagnosis of cancer – this is great news for the people of Burnley.”
