Kitty Ussher has launched a campaign to save Hapton Post Office from closure, and today Jean Cunningham took to the streets of Hapton to collect signatures for the petition that Kitty is circulating.
Kitty’s campaign has centred around circulating petitions and surveys to residents of Hapton. She will then present the information gathered from the surveys to Royal Mail, to prove to them just how important the Post Office is to local residents. She will also present them with the petitions, which demonstrate the strength of feeling of local residents.
Today Jean Cunningham went to Hapton Primary school to collect signatures from concerned parents.

Jean said;
“The Post Office is vital to residents in Hapton. I believe that we must do all we can to save this crucial service. I have joined Kitty in her campaign and will be fighting as hard as I can.”
Kitty Ussher said;
“I have been in talks with Royal Mail, and I will be putting our case to them. I believe that the Post Office is vitally important to residents in Hapton, and so I will be doing whatever I can to save it. You can help me by filling in one of my surveys and also by signing my petition, to help me prove to Royal Mail just how important our Post Office is.
All residents of Hapton should have received a survey, but if you need one, or would like a copy of the petition, just contact my office on (01282) 450 840. Copies of the petition can be found in local shops, take-aways and churches. I am also keen to hear the views of residents in other areas where Post Offices are scheduled for closure."
