The MG Midget belongs to the Chairman of the Hospital radio Mr John Robinson, who built the car from scrap, putting it together like a big jigsaw puzzle. The Midget has made a number of fundraising voyages, including an 800 mile round trip to Inverness, Scotland. This time the trip to John O’Groats raised £1000, which has been split between Tickled Pink and Hospital Radio Burnley.
At the Visit studio Manager Bryan Sissons was pleased to welcome Kitty and showed her around the new studios, demonstrating the new state of the art equipment the radio station had purchased with money they’d received from a Lottery Grant. This included two broadcast mixers at £5000 each and a station master studio on air switching unit at £1500. Bryan then interviewed kitty about her role as MP, why she got into politics and how she liked her new job.
Kitty said:
“I was very impressed by the studios and was pleased to be able to pass on my good luck wishes for the road trip. I had a fantastic time and hope that the listeners enjoyed listening to the show as much as I enjoyed taking part”
